Tomas D. Morales, MD
Originally from New England, Dr. Morales attended medical school and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Loyola University Chicago. During his training, he cared for patients from many different backgrounds, including underserved communities. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.
Dr. Morales completed his fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at UT Health San Antonio, where he received broad training in both common and complex endocrine conditions.
Dr. Morales believes medical care should be patient-centered, evidence-based, affordable, and easy to understand. When recommending treatment, he considers the medical benefits, cost, convenience, and overall patient experience. His goal is to reduce health risks, prevent complications and hospitalization, and help patients live longer, healthier lives with a good quality of life. He believes that informed patients make the best decisions and takes time to explain diagnoses, review treatment options, and develop a personalized care plan that fits each patient’s goals and lifestyle.
His clinical interests include type 1 diabetes, insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitors, hypoglycemia, and prediabetes; weight management and fatty liver disease; diabetic kidney disease; lipid disorders; thyroid disease and thyroid cancer; endocrine disorders during pregnancy; pituitary disorders, including prolactinomas, acromegaly, and Cushing syndrome; adrenal nodules; osteopenia and osteoporosis; hypercalcemia; and general endocrinology.
Dr. Morales works closely with each patient to create a practical treatment plan that supports long-term health, longevity, and quality of life.
